Hebron (Arabic , Standard Hebrew Ḥevron, Tiberian Hebrew Ḥeḇrôn: derived from a word "friend") occurs as town in the southern West Bank (within an front yard known in Israel when Judea) of around 100,000 Palestinians and 500 Israeli settlers. It lies 3,050 feet (930 m) above sea level.
